Update Your USB Media Guide PDF Files

Player bios and statistics are updated each week on the online edition of the Digital Media Guide. You may download these to your Atlanta Falcons Digital Media Guide USB device and overwrite the older PDF files. The following instructions outline one way to do this.

Update Individual Player

  1. From the online edition of the Media Guide, right-click on the player bio you wish to update and select the option for Save As (actual language may vary between web browsers).
  2. You will be prompted for a location to save the file. Browse to the location of your Digital Media Guide USB device and to the /local/assets folder. Save the PDF in that /local/assets/ folder. NOTE: Make sure to save it with the same file name as the PDF you are replacing (i.e. if replacing Matt Ryan's bio save the file as Ryan_Matt.pdf). Some browsers will try to add a number to the filename to prevent accidental overwrites.
  3. Approve the Overwrite alert you will receive.

Now you will have the most recent version of that player bio on your USB Edition of the Digital Media Guide.

Update Media Guide (Advanced)

  1. Click here to download the latest zip archive of the entire media guide. This single file contains all the updated PDFs. Save this to any location on your computer.
  2. When the download is complete, unzip the archive on your USB device, approving the overwrite for all when prompted. NOTE: Most versions of Windows, Mac OSX and Linux have built-in unzip tools.

Now you will have the most recent version of the media guide on your USB Edition of the Digital Media Guide.

Help & FAQ

This season the Atlanta Falcons are introducing a digital media guide that will provide media members with the most up-to-date information about the club. The Atlanta Falcons Digital Media Guide comes in two Editions -- USB and Online. Both are nearly identical and display in a web browser much like a website. Both versions provide an index for media to easily find and open sections of the Official Atlanta Falcons Media Guide as PDF files, which can be viewed in your preferred PDF software. By utilizing this technology, media members will have the ability to search within each page as well as copy and paste text.

The Atlanta Falcons Digital Media Guide will be updated every Tuesday in preparation for the coming week's game. Users will find updated bios, weekly releases, statistics, rosters and other information about the team. All files can be printed from your web browser.

The Online Edition is frequently updated, however the USB Edition does NOT update automatically. You need to manually download the PDFs as needed from the Online Edition and save them in the appropriate location on the Atlanta Falcons Digital Media Guide USB thumb drive. Instructions for this procedure can be found under the "Update" tab at the top of this page.

Questions about the USB Edition

  1. Do I need to be online to access the files?

No, you do not need an internet connection. You can access the most recent player bios that you have downloaded without an internet connection. It is recommended that you download the updated information each Wednesday, so that you will be able to access the updated information without needing an internet connection.

Questions about the Online Edition

  1. How often are the player bios updated?

The digital media guide will be updated every Tuesday in connection with the completion of the weekly media release.

  2. How often do I need to download the updates?

This is a matter of your preference, and you can do so as often or as little as you like. However, it is recommended that you download the updates at least once a week on Wednesday morning. This will allow you to access the most recent information without needing an internet connection.
